Another "AHA"
Moment

The "Ah Ha!" Moments of Judith Aston have been passed on to thousands . . .

Here is a tip for you-

THINK ABOUT THIS
Bending over the sink to
brush your teeth can strain your back.

The next time you experience this, place your free hand on the counter and push down. This lengthens and supports your back.

ASTON® THERAPEUTICS I
Assessment and Problem Solving Skills
3 Days $399.00
Does not include the Aston Postural Assessment Workbook (required)

ATI is an entry-level course and a prerequisite for all other Aston courses. Open to practitioners or students in the health field.

This course introduces a system created by Judith Aston that will teach you to develop your observational skills and recognize body patterns. These skills will help you solve the problems of why symptoms occur and recur in relation to underlying causes that can be seen in a body's structure. You will look at the alignment and "three-dimensionality" of the body and participate in body usage movement labs to create changes in your own body's form. You will also be introduced to the differences between structural (true limitations) and functional (compensations) holding patterns. During this class you will gain an understanding of the Aston Paradigm, it's origination and the basis for it's theory. On the final day, you will use your newly developed observational skills and apply them to your current techniques to realize the enhanced benefits from this course.

This course will introduce you to:
· Comprehensive visual assessment skills
· A quick system of notation of alignment and dimension for easy record keeping and reference
· How to create a session plan determined by each individual's body patterns and needs
· How to maximize the effectiveness of your current technique
· How to engage and empower your client in their own recovery / education
· An understanding of asymmetry as a dynamic part of nature's biomechanics

ASTON® THERAPEUTICS II
Movement Assessment and Applications
4 Days $499.00
Prerequisite: Aston® Therapeutics I

Open to all health professionals who have completed all prerequisite courses and are qualified to teach movement/exercise education according to their state's acts/laws.

This course teaches skills to assess the body in motion, facilitate movement education, and apply ergonomic supports using Aston-Mechanics®, Judith Aston's "new math" for body use in rest, action and ergonomic design. The movement units taught in this course will enable habitual tensions to release allowing for an exploration to a new body alignment. The understanding of this new alignment will be applied to common daily tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching and gait. The Aston biomechanic principles taught in this class facilitate the understanding of how to apply ergonomic support for these daily activities. The-Aston-Line® products easily modify the environment for optimal movement. These skills provide powerful ways to educate the client in effective body use.

You will learn skills to:
· Teach movement as a self-massage to unwind unnecessary tension
· Facilitate movement using demonstration, verbal and tactile cues
· Identify the client's unique neutral alignment in daily activities
· Modify chairs, work sites, etc. to support the body's needs
· Enable self-care and problem solving for your clients

ASTON® BODYWORKS I
Spiraling Technique
4 Days $499.00
Prerequisite: Aston® Therapeutics I
Open to all health professionals who have completed all prerequisite courses and are qualified to teach massage according to their state's practice acts/laws.

This course integrates the visual assessment skills from Theraputics I, into a bodywork plan. The Spiraling technique is a painless hands-on approach, which respects and matches the layer, shape and grain of the soft tissue. It allows you to work from the surface layers through to include the bone with ease. Specialized attention is placed on keeping the whole body in balance as localized tension is released. Combined with an accurate whole body assessment, the Spiraling Technique greatly increases the effectiveness off all manual therapy and decreases the amount of stress and effort on the therapist.

You will learn:
· How to enhance your existing bodywork techniques by working with the Aston Paradigm
· To affect areas beyond the reach of your hands, using a more three-dimensional touch
· The benefits of working with the grain of a client's tissue
· How to listen to the body asymmetries and match the pattern
· A whole body protocol for integrating the layers from surface to bone
· Awareness of how your body patterns may affect your work
· The most effective body usage so you can feel pain free and rejuvenated at the end of the day

ASTON® BODYWORKS II
Advancing the Spiraling Technique
4 Days $499.00
Prerequisite: Aston® Therapeutics I and Aston® Bodyworks I Open to all health professionals who have completed all prerequisite courses and are qualified to teach massage according to their state's practice acts/laws.

This course advances your problem solving abilities by refining your visual assessment and palpation skills. As you continue to improve upon your assessment skills, you will learn how to advance the Spiraling Technique to release specific tension patterns and work deeper structures without causing pain. This course will introduce how to notate tension patterns on a "body map." The body map is another great tool to enhance your problem solving skills and offer you a record of your client's progress.

Benefits of this course:
· Advance your Spiraling Technique
· Gain accuracy in your sessions with your problem solving
· Learn how to work deeper and more specific without causing pain
